We will be doing 12 blocks measuring 9 inches square as well as a 12 setting blocks that are 4 1/2 inch in size.
We will work with one back ground fabric (your choice) as well as 22 other pieces of fabric. (Your choice).
You get to choose all your own fabric.

Beginning English Paper Piecing Class

English Paper Piecing is a method of quilt making that has been in use for over 300 years.
The accuracy, ease of use, and portability of projects has kept this method if quilt making popular through out the years. The great thing about English Paper Piecing is that it allows you to carry a project with you at all times!
No need for a special place in your house where the sewing machine can be set up.
You can have a basket of fabric and Paper Pieces by the sofa or your favorite chair.
Perhaps this is why I love it so much. Though I have to warn you, it is ADDICTIVE!
English Paper Piecing is how your traditional Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt is made.
We will make one block in class, as well as discuss the endless possibilities of this form of quilt making. Trust me you will be amazed at what can be done using this method.
Keep in mind this is all done by Hand Sewing. DON'T BE AFARAID. TRY IT YOU

Adding the elegance of applique to traditional-style patchwork blocks and designs.
The purpose of this class is to teach you another way to take a traditional block and more elegant and interesting to the eye. Not to mention create a design all your own.
We will work with bold fabric designs as well as border prints, these fabrics work the best, however just about any fabric will work depending on the look you are trying to achieve. Soft Edge Piecing is done using some form of appliqué; either by hand, machine, or fused. The sky is the limit.
I will be working from the following book should you wish to get one.
